FC Kuressaare piled more misery on Flora Tallinn by claiming a stunning 3-2 away victory at Lilleküla Stadium, just days after Flora’s humiliating European exit and the dismissal of head coach Konstantin Vassiljev.

With interim coach Karl Mööl taking charge for the first time, Flora made a bright start and created several early chances, but poor finishing proved costly. Tony Varjund and Remo Valdmets both went close before Kuressaare struck first in the 26th minute. Taavi Jürisoo burst through and squared for the 17-year-old Aston Visse, who tapped home his first-ever Premium Liiga goal.

The visitors doubled their lead just four minutes later after a costly mistake from Flora goalkeeper Kaur Kivila. Deivid Andreas reacted quickest to the loose ball and converted from close range to make it 2-0.

Flora immediately responded through Sander Alamaa, who finished confidently after Kuressaare failed to clear the danger, but the visitors restored their two-goal cushion almost instantly. Andreas turned provider this time, setting up Jürisoo, whose low strike took a deflection before finding the net for a remarkable 3-1 scoreline before half-time.

Flora dominated possession after the restart and gave themselves hope in the 48th minute when Alamaa curled a superb effort into the far corner for his second goal of the evening.

The home side continued to pile on the pressure throughout the second half. Tony Varjund, Sergei Zenjov and Sander Tovstik all tested the Kuressaare defence, while the visitors repeatedly threw bodies in front of goal-bound efforts to preserve their slender advantage.

Kuressaare also remained dangerous on the counter-attack and nearly added a fourth when Jürisoo was denied by Kivila, while Flora survived a VAR review that downgraded a potential red card for Mihhail Kolobov to a yellow.

Flora launched one final assault during six minutes of added time, sending goalkeeper Kivila forward for a succession of set-pieces, but Kuressaare defended heroically to secure a famous 3-2 victory. Their first over them in five years.
