In the Premium Liiga Matchday 23 game JK Narva Trans were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Paide Linnameeskond after Pedro Andrade’s second-half equaliser cancelled out Tomas Berardozzi’s early opener in an evenly contested Premium Liiga clash.
Narva made the perfect start at Kreenholm Stadium, taking the lead after just four minutes. Aleksander Filatov’s shot from outside the box took a deflection off Victor Hugo and fell kindly for Tomas Berardozzi, who calmly slotted the ball inside the post from close range.
The early goal opened the game up, with both sides enjoying spells in possession. Paide responded through Henri Anier and Modou Pa Sohna, while Narva looked threatening from set pieces, but neither goalkeeper was seriously troubled as the home side carried a narrow lead into the break.
Paide head coach Tarmo Kink reacted immediately after half-time with a triple substitution, introducing Pedro Andrade, Henrik Ojamaa and Momodou Jobarteh in an attempt to turn the match around.
The changes paid off in the 55th minute. Sohna curled an excellent free-kick towards the back post, where Nikita Baranov headed the ball back across goal for Pedro Andrade to finish from close range and level the scores.
The equaliser sparked a lively spell from both teams. Aleksandr Filatov went close with a long-range effort for Narva, while Jobarteh and Badamosi both threatened for the visitors as Paide looked for a winner.
Narva almost restored their advantage late on when Murad Velijev created a golden opportunity for Gero, but the forward fired into the side netting after many in the stadium thought the ball had found the net. The offside flag was eventually raised.
Paide controlled possession for much of the second half, finishing with 62 percent of the ball, but Narva continued to threaten on the counter-attack and created enough chances to keep the visitors honest.
Neither side was able to find a decisive late goal, and the points were ultimately shared.
