Estonia midfielder Kevor Palumets scored his first goal for Košice as they took a high-scoring victory over Skalica in the Slovak top flight.
Košice made a fast start, going in front in the fourth minute and doubling their advantage on 19 minutes. Palumets then got on the scoresheet three minutes later to make it 3-0.
A Skalica own goal before the interval extended Košice’s lead to four. Skalica responded after the break with a penalty and then a second goal seven minutes later to reduce the deficit, but Košice held on.
Palumets started the match and was substituted in the 64th minute. He joined Košice ahead of the 2026-27 season from fellow Slovak top-flight club Podbrezová.
Košice had opened the campaign with two high-scoring draws, 4-4 against Žilina and 3-3 away to Trenčín, the club of Markus Poom, Kristo Hussar and Dimitri Jepihhin. After three league matches, they sit sixth in the 12-team table.
