Tartu Tammeka strengthened their position in the Premium Liiga after claiming a 1-0 away victory over Nõmme United, despite spending much of the second half under pressure. 18-year-old Kristofer Sahtel made a good first impression in his Premium Liiga debut.
The visitors controlled much of the opening half, enjoying the majority of possession and creating the better chances. Lisboa came closest with a powerful long-range strike that goalkeeper Lagus tipped onto the crossbar, while Tristan Koskor blasted the rebound over. At the other end, 18-year-old goalkeeper Kristofer Sahtel, making his Premium Liiga debut, produced an excellent one-on-one save to deny Õunapuu, ensuring the teams went into the break level at 0-0.
Tammeka continued to dictate play after the restart, but it was Nõmme United who began creating the clearer opportunities. Sahtel was called into action several times, including a quick reaction save after Chisala broke through on goal.
The decisive moment arrived in the 76th minute. Tammeka worked a free-kick short before Hydara whipped a dangerous cross into the box. Goalkeeper Lagus failed to deal with the delivery, allowing captain Oliver Kangaslahti to react quickest and tap the loose ball into an unguarded net.
United pushed hard for an equaliser in the closing stages and nearly rescued a point in stoppage time, but Sahtel made another outstanding save to deny Oostenbrink from close range and preserve his clean sheet on his league debut.
With this win Tammeka move to the 5th place in the league table, while United are 7th four points behind Tammeka.
