Harju have added 18-year-old Ivorian forward Yann Emmanuel Assale to their squad, with the teenager arriving from Casy Foot in the third tier of football in Ivory Coast.

Assale said he had settled quickly in Estonia and is targeting results for the club. “I’m very happy to be part of the Harju family. I felt at home here from the first day and I’m ready to fight and give everything to help the team succeed,” he said on the club’s Facebook page. “I’m really looking forward to the moment we can celebrate wins together with the fans.”

Chief executive Kalmar Liiv believes the new signing can provide a direct threat in the final third. “We’re very happy to have Yann in our team. He’s a young, attack-minded player from Ivory Coast,” Liiv said. “Yann is skilful and technical and his one-v-one ability can cause defenders plenty of problems. I’m sure our fans have reason to look forward to what he will show on the pitch.”

Assale will wear the number 10 shirt for the Laagri club. Harju have also recruited 19-year-old defender Moussa Seck from Africa this summer, with Seck making his debut on 7 August in a 3-2 defeat by Kuressaare.
