Estonian champions Flora Tallinn saw both their own and Estonia’s 2026/27 European campaign come to an end on Thursday evening after suffering a heavy 0-4 home defeat to Andorran side Inter d’Escaldes, crashing out of the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round 0-6 on aggregate.
Head coach Konstantin Vassiljev made three changes to the starting line-up, recalling experienced forward Rauno Alliku, while Sander Tovstik and Tony Varjund returned after missing the first leg through injury.
Knowing they needed to overturn a two-goal deficit, Flora started brightly and created the first opportunity of the evening when Sander Alamaa’s close-range effort was blocked inside the penalty area. However, the tie took a huge turn in the 17th minute as Inter d’Escaldes struck on the counter-attack. Domi Berlanga teed up Modric, whose finish beat Evert Grünvald to give the visitors a 1-0 lead on the night and a commanding 3-0 aggregate advantage.
Flora continued to push forward but struggled to create clear-cut chances. Their best opportunity before the break came three minutes before half-time when Sergei Zenjov raced clear, but his attempted chip drifted just wide of the post.
The Estonian champions’ hopes finally disappeared midway through the second half. In the 69th minute, another swift counter-attack ended with Soule picking out Faysal Chouaib, who calmly finished into the bottom corner to double Inter’s lead on the night.
The visitors then completed a ruthless four-minute spell that turned the defeat into a rout. Borja Arellano made it 3-0 after running onto a perfectly weighted through ball from David Lopez, before Chouaib grabbed his second of the evening after Grünvald had saved the initial effort but could do nothing about the rebound.
Flora were unable to find even a consolation goal as they suffered a humiliating 0-4 defeat on home soil, with Inter d’Escaldes progressing 6-0 on aggregate.
The result also brought Estonia’s participation in this season’s European club competitions to an end, with no Estonian clubs reaching the play-off qualifying round.
