FK Metta has concluded its 2024 season and announced significant roster updates as the club begins planning for the upcoming year. Among the changes, six players will not be continuing with the team: Yevhen Stadnik, Jordan Bender, Mohamet Lamine Correa, and local players Mikus Vasiļevskis, Tomass Zants, and Daniils Ulimbaševs. The club expressed its gratitude for their contributions and wished them the best in their future endeavors.
Yevhen Stadnik – The Ukrainian midfielder joined FK Metta on loan from Riga FC for the 2024 season. During his time with the club, he made 24 appearances across the Virslīga and the Latvian Cup, logging 705 minutes on the pitch and scoring a single goal. Stadnik provided a reliable presence in midfield and contributed to FK Metta’s efforts throughout the season.
Jordan Bender – The American midfielder signed with FK Metta ahead of the 2024 campaign and proved to be a valuable asset. Over the course of the season, Bender played more than 2,000 minutes, featuring in 33 matches and becoming a key figure in the team’s left flank setup. His technical skill and versatility made him a key performer during his time at the club.
Mohamet Lamine Correa – Senegalese forward Mohamet Lamine Correa leaves FK Metta after two and a half successful seasons. Correa was one of the team’s attacking leaders, scoring 19 goals in 66 Virslīga matches, with an additional three goals in the Latvian Cup and two more during relegation playoffs. Correa’s finishing ability and consistent performances made him a crucial part of FK Metta’s offense during his tenure.
Mikus Vasiļevskis – A product of the FK Metta academy, Mikus Vasiļevskis made his senior debut in 2022 and has been a part of the team ever since. The 21-year-old midfielder played 19 matches in the 2024 season before an injury cut his campaign short. Over three seasons, Vasiļevskis made a total of 65 appearances, scored two goals, and became a symbol of the club’s dedication to nurturing homegrown talent.
Tomass Zants – Another academy graduate, Tomass Zants, has been with FK Metta since 2022. The 21-year-old midfielder played a smaller role in the first team, making eight appearances over three seasons and recording one assist. Despite limited game time, Zants contributed to the club’s overall development with his dedication and work ethic.
Daniils Ulimbaševs – Experienced Latvian midfielder Daniils Ulimbaševs joined FK Metta ahead of the 2024 season and became a key player, logging 32 appearances and playing 2,493 minutes. Ulimbaševs contributed one goal and two assists during the season, bringing leadership and composure to the team.
