Today, Nicosia “Omonia” club announced that it has terminated its contract with Valdas Dambrauskas by mutual agreement. The Lithuanian, who joined Omonia last winter and took on the head coach role this summer, had a short tenure in Cyprus.

During his time with the Nicosia team, he managed 21 matches, achieving 13 wins, one draw, and seven losses. Omonia is in third place in the Cypriot championship with 22 points, but they trail the leading Paphos club by nine points.
Additionally, Omonia has won only one out of four matches in the UEFA Conference League phase and sits at the bottom of the table with just three points.

Dambrauskas’s final match in charge was yesterday in the Conference League, where Omonia lost 0-3 at home to Warsaw’s Legia club. Alongside Dambrauskas, two Lithuanians who were a part of his coaching staff, Marius Skinderis and Justinas Gasiūnas, also left the club.

The 47-year-old specialist has worked as a manager for several clubs, including Ekranas, Vilnius Žalgiris, FC RFS, and Croatian teams HNK Gorica and Hajduk Split. He also managed Ludogorets in Bulgaria, and before taking over Omonia, he was at OFI Crete, another team in Cyprus.
