Former Borussia Dortmund and İstanbul Başakşehir Serbian midfielder, Miloš Jojić, will not stay at Riga FC as his contract with Latvian vice-champions of the past two seasons was not renewed, announced the club on their homepage.
Jojić, who joined Riga FC prior to last season, played 69 matches for the club under three different managers, scoring 6 goals and making 15 assists. He was one of the captains of the team, bringing stability to the midfield and drawing on his world-class experience to dictate the tempo of a Riga FC side that, during his time with the club, tended to lack consistency and team cohesion.
In a farewell message on their homepage and on social media, the club thanked Jojić for his time and contributions. The Serbian departs Latvian capital with a single trophy, having won the Latvian Cup with Riga FC last year.
