Grobiņa have completed the signing of Brazilian forward Luiz Paulo Hilario, better known as Dodo, the Latvian Virsliga club announced on Monday.
The 38-year-old joins after a long spell with Liepāja, where he played from 2019 and registered 66 goals and 19 assists in 173 matches. The club parted ways with the forward just a few days ago. Dodo has also featured during his career in Brazil, Greece, Azerbaijan and Croatia.
Grobiņa are ninth in the 10-team Virsliga after 17 rounds, with 13 points. Their next fixture comes on Tuesday, 16 June, when they host Liepāja at the Daugava Stadium in Liepāja with kick-off at 19:00 local time.
In a message welcoming the striker, Grobiņa said they were “truly delighted” he will represent the club’s blue and black colours and added: “We know we will have many good matches and many beautiful moments together.”
