FCI Levadia Tallinn continued their unbeaten start to the Estonian Premium Liiga season with a comfortable 3-0 home victory over Harju JK Laagri, extending their winning streak to five league matches and strengthening their position at the top of the table.

Harju arrived at A. Le Coq Arena looking to bounce back from a heavy 0-5 defeat against Flora in the previous round, but quickly found themselves under pressure against another Estonian giant.

The visitors actually created the game’s first dangerous moment when Abdul Binate capitalized on a poor pass from Karl Andre Vallner, curling an effort narrowly wide of the post in just the second minute. However, that proved to be one of Harju’s few threatening attacks of the afternoon.

Levadia gradually took complete control of the match, creating several chances through Bubacarr Tambedou and Wendell, while Harju goalkeeper Jan Martti Vainula was repeatedly forced into action to keep the game level.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 39th minute after a costly mistake from Vainula. Mark Oliver Roosnupp intercepted the loose pass and found Wendell near the penalty spot, with the Brazilian forward calmly creating space for himself before firing Levadia into the lead.

Just two minutes later the hosts doubled their advantage. Rasmus Peetson won the ball in midfield and quickly released Roosnupp down the right flank, with the experienced winger cutting inside before beating Vainula to make it 2-0 before halftime.

Any hopes of a Harju comeback disappeared in a quiet second half largely controlled by Levadia possession. The league leaders rarely allowed the visitors into dangerous areas and comfortably managed the tempo throughout the remainder of the match.

Substitute Enock Otoo added the final goal in the 90th minute after good combination play between Roosnupp and Joseph Saliste, tapping home from close range to seal the convincing victory.

Levadia now head into a longer break before a major away clash next Sunday against Paide Linnameeskond, while Harju – now suffering consecutive defeats against Flora and Levadia – will try to return to winning ways next Saturday against Pärnu JK Vaprus.
