Lithuania’s U19 national team secured a crucial result in the second match of their European Championship qualifying tournament, holding Northern Ireland to a 0:0 draw in Raudondvaris.
The stalemate proved enough for Lithuania to finish top of their group with four points.
On March 25, the Lithuanian youngsters delivered an impressive 4:0 victory over the Azerbaijan U19 national team, while Northern Ireland had earlier secured a narrower 2:1 win against the same opponents.
Thanks to a superior goal difference, they edged out their rivals and claimed first place.
This strong performance ensures Lithuania’s promotion to Division A for the second stage of qualification, marking an important step forward for the young squad.
