A total of 56 teams will take part in the 2026 Lithuanian Cup after registration for this season’s competition closed, the federation has announced.
Under the competition rules, all clubs from Toplyga, Pirma Lyga and the LFF II Lyga A and B divisions qualify automatically, while amateur sides from lower division have to apply. This year, 16 amateur teams signed up, taking the overall lineup to 56. Reserve and affiliated teams are not permitted to compete.
The 10 Toplyga clubs in the draw are Kauno Žalgiris, Hegelmann, Žalgiris, Sūduva, FA Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Džiugas, Banga, Riteriai and TransINVEST. The 11 Pirma Lyga entrants are Dainava, Neptūnas, Tauras, Babrungas, BFA, Atmosfera, Jonava, Minija, Be1, Ekranas and Garliava.
From LFF II Lyga A, the participants are Nevėžis, Sveikata, Šilutė, Klaipėdos FM, Sirijus, FKS Ukmergė, Viltis, Širvėna, Utenis and Vilnius Football Academy. The nine LFF II Lyga B teams are Nemunas, Saned, Cementininkas, Venta, Pempininkai, FM Vilniaus Vytis, Granitas, FSK Radviliškis and Ataka.
The 16 amateur entrants are VGTU Vilkai, Šumskas, Švyturys, Kaunas City FA, Ketera, Alternatyvus futbolo klubas (AFK), Trivartis, EDM Statyba-Sendvaris, Imsrė, Geležinis Vilkas, O.G. Kaišiadorys, Tera, Futboliukas, Utenos Utena, Inter Nemenčinė and Nadruvis.
Toplyga clubs do not enter in the opening draw, meaning that 46 teams will be involved at the start, with two preliminary-round ties to reduce the number of remaining sides to 44. The first round will then produce 22 ties, with the winners advancing to the next stage, where the top-flight clubs join the competition.
The first-round draw will be held on Friday, 20th of March at 11:00 and will be shown live on the futbolas.tv platform.
Panevėžys are the defending Cup holders, having beaten Hegelmann in last season’s final.
