Emerson Deocleciano, 25, will depart from Latvian champions FC RFS as his contract expires, capping off a stellar five-year spell with the club. Joining at the start of the 2020 season, the Brazilian winger became RFS’s all-time top scorer, netting 53 goals and providing 37 assists in 177 appearances. During his time at the club, Emerson helped RFS win three Virslīga titles and two Latvian Cups.
Despite battling injuries that saw him miss 12 of the final 14 league games this season, Emerson still managed seven goals and seven assists in 23 league appearances. His contributions were pivotal to RFS’s continued success, but the injuries curtailed his impact in the latter part of the Virslīga and UEFA Europa League phase competition.
Emerson’s time in Latvia has firmly established him as one of the best to ever play for FC RFS and the Latvian Virslīga. Rumors suggest that Emerson’s next move could take him to Asia.
