According to the Slovenian Football Federation’s official transfer registration report, NK Celje have added another Lithuanian player to their ranks, signing 17-year-old defender Kristupas Padegimas from the FC Hegelmann system.
Celje, who currently sit at the top of the Slovenian top division, already rely on two Lithuanians. Forward Armandas Kučys and defender Artemijus Tutyškinas have both played important roles in the club’s strong domestic and European campaign. With the arrival of Padegimas to the Celje system, the Slovenian leaders further strengthen their Lithuanian connection.
Born in 2008, Padegimas made four appearances last season for Hegelmann’s reserve side in Lithuania’s second division. The young defender has also represented Lithuania at U-17 level.
