Virslīga newcomers Ogre United have announced the addition of 22-year-old Brazilian centre-forward Filipe Machado to the squad as they prepare for their top-tier debut. Machado last played in South Korea’s third tier with Chuncheon, registering one goal and one assist in 14 appearances. In 2024, he featured in Ecuador’s Serie B, scoring four times in 19 matches as Independiente del Valle’s reserve side finished fourth.
Ogre United have retained their two central attackers from last season – Haralds Silagailis and Marks Pačepko. During winter friendlies, Dāvis Sedols also regularly featured as a second striker or as number 10, but the former RFS-2 player has not yet been officially announced by the club.
Previously, the club has confirmed the arrivals of Kristers Čudars, Dāvis Vējkrīgers, Emīls Sprukts and Mārtiņš Lormanis.
Ogre United will begin their Virslīga campaign away to runners-up RFS on 6 March.
