Paide municipality has begun preparations for the construction of a new football stadium that would expand the facilities used by Premium liiga side Paide Linnameeskond.

The Paide city council has launched a tender to commission a strategic preliminary environmental impact assessment for the detailed plan covering the proposed Paide football arena and its surrounding area, according to the local newspaper – Järva Teataja.

Plans for the site include a new stadium with capacity for more than 4,000 spectators, as well as a padel and tennis centre and a car park. The stadium is earmarked for a plot behind the existing football hall and artificial pitch, on woodland adjacent to the current natural grass stadium.
