UEFA has confirmed the fixture calendar for the upcoming UEFA Nations League campaign, with Lithuania set to open their League D campaign on September 24 away to Liechtenstein.
The Lithuanian national team, relegated to League D for the first time in their history, were drawn yesterday into a group alongside Azerbaijan and Liechtenstein. Today, Edgaras Jankauskas’ side learned the exact match schedule for the competition.
Lithuania will begin their campaign on the road against Liechtenstein. Three days later, they will host Azerbaijan at home. One week after that, the two sides will meet again, this time in Azerbaijan.
The campaign will conclude on November 16, when Lithuania host Liechtenstein in their final group match.
As League D groups consist of only three teams, Lithuania will play four Nations League matches instead of the usual six contested in Leagues A, B, and C. As a result, the team will have two additional dates available during the international windows, which are expected to be filled with friendly matches.
The Nations League fixtures will take place between September and November.
