Latvian champions Riga FC have announced the signing of Colombian defender Andrés Salazar.
For the 23-year-old, the move marks a return to European football. In 2024, Salazar spent half a season on loan with Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian, where he made one official appearance. Aside from that spell, the left-back has spent the majority of his career playing in Colombia.
During the 2025 season, Salazar represented Atlético Nacional, making 32 appearances across all competitions and scoring two goals. He has also earned one cap for the Colombia national football team.
Salazar becomes Riga FC’s sixth signing of the current offseason. The club has previously confirmed the arrival of five foreign players, along with Latvia international goalkeeper Frenks Dāvids Orols.
