Kauno Žalgiris will face one of their toughest tests of pre-season when they take on Dynamo Kyiv in a friendly in Antalya.
The Lithuanian champions are in Turkey for a warm-weather training camp and will meet the Ukrainian giants today, on 30 January, with kick-off scheduled for 12:00 Lithuanian time. Dynamo have confirmed the match will be shown live on the club’s official YouTube channel.
The Kyiv side still feature Andriy Yarmolenko, a four-time winner of Ukraine’s footballer of the year award.
Kauno Žalgiris head coach E. Černiauskas expects a high-tempo contest. “This match, in terms of intensity and the seriousness of the opponent, should be comparable to European ties,” he said. “We really hope they play at full strength so we can see what level we’re at and what we still lack.”
The game will be Kauno Žalgiris’ second friendly of their camp after a 2-1 defeat by Zhenis Astana. Dynamo have drawn 0-0 with Korona Kielce in Turkey and beat Malisheva 8-1.
