RFS have completed the signing of Niks Dusalijevs from Virslīga rivals Tukums 2000, bringing the 24-year-old to Riga on a loan deal until the summer.
The Latvian club confirmed the agreement includes an option to make the move permanent when the temporary switch ends. Dusalijevs becomes the latest addition to an RFS squad already deep into preparations for the new campaign.
Born in Limbaži, Dusalijevs began his pathway in the Ventspils academy and made his top-flight debut in 2020 for Ventspils before moving on to Valmiera. He won the Latvian title in his first season with Valmiera, featuring in seven league matches, and went on to establish himself as a regular.
He made 53 appearances for Valmiera, scoring three goals, before joining Tukums 2000, where he enjoyed a standout season. In 34 Tonybet Virslīga matches last term, Dusalijevs scored five times and provided 10 assists.
Dusalijevs has already been training with his new team since day one of pre-season and has featured in friendlies, including Wednesday’s 3-2 win over Grobiņa.
Having had what was widely considered a breakout season last year with Tukums, Dusalijevs was named both to Virslīga Best XI and the overall Baltic Best XI by Baltic Football News.
