RFS have completed the permanent signing of defender Roberts Veips from FS Jelgava after triggering an option in his contract.

Veips joined RFS on loan in July and made 15 appearances across all competitions, scoring once. He also featured in RFS’ UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League qualifying campaigns.

The 25-year-old has now agreed a long-term contract that will keep him at RFS until the end of the 2028 season.

I’m very happy to be part of the RFS family – a group that creates a real feeling of home, is built on strong values and has a big appetite for success,” Veips said.

His form at club level was rewarded with his first Latvia call-up, and he has gone on to win four international caps. Veips is currently continuing pre-season preparations with RFS ahead of the new campaign.
