Estonian bronze medallists Nõmme Kalju kicked off their preseason friendly matches today with a 3-0 victory over second-tier side Viimsi JK.

The match, played at the Viimsi indoor hall, saw the visitors from Nõmme take an early lead when Rommi Siht opened the scoring in the 6th minute. Midway through the first half, Kalju doubled their advantage through Daniil Sõtšugov, who is currently on trial with the club. The 22-year-old former Estonia U-21 international has spent his entire senior career with JK Tallinna Kalev, a club that was relegated from the top division last season.

The final score was sealed late in the match by Brazilian legionnaire Tiago Baptista, who converted a penalty kick to cap off Kalju’s first preseason outing with a comfortable win.

Nõmme Kalju will continue their preseason schedule next Saturday, when they face Latvian vice-champions FC RFS at the Paide indoor hall.
