Latvian Virslīga side SK Super Nova have announced their first signing of the off-season, completing the transfer of one of the standout players from the Nākotnes Līga, Japanese winger Sho Aogaki.
The 21-year-old wide player arrives after completing his first season outside Japan with Rēzekne FA, where he quickly established himself as one of the league’s most dangerous attackers. In just 16 league appearances, Aogaki scored an impressive 10 goals, finishing the campaign as his club’s top scorer.
Aogaki now becomes the first addition to a Super Nova squad that secured eighth place this season and successfully retained their place in the Virslīga.
The move follows a period of change behind the scenes at Super Nova. The club recently confirmed the departure of head coach Ervīns Pērkons, who spent two seasons in charge and led the team to promotion to the Virslīga. At the same time, the club also secured the future of experienced defender Mārcis Ošs, extending the contract of one of the squad’s key leaders.
