FK Liepāja have confirmed that veteran Brazilian striker Dodo has signed a one-year contract extension, keeping the club’s all-time top scorer in Kurzeme for another season.
The 37-year-old forward first arrived in Liepāja in 2019 and has since become a fan favorite and a key figure in the club’s modern history. With 66 goals in 172 appearances, Dodo currently sits 21st on the all-time Virslīga top scorers list – a remarkable achievement that reflects both his consistency and longevity.
Although his role this season has been more limited, Dodo has still made 17 league appearances, finding the net twice. With four matches remaining, the team is in pole position to secure third place – a strong finish under head coach Andreas Alm.
Before his successful spell in Latvia, Dodo’s career took him across Europe, with stints in Croatia, Azerbaijan, and Greece. Now, as he prepares for his eighth consecutive season in Liepāja, the experienced striker remains an iconic figure at the club.
Next up for Liepāja is an away clash against FK Auda on Monday following the international break.
