The Lithuanian Women’s A Lyga title race swung decisively on Tuesday evening as FK Gintra demolished FC Hegelmann 7–0 in a rescheduled Round 14 fixture at Raudondvaris Stadium. The result lifts the Šiauliai side back above FK TransINVEST into first place with just five rounds remaining.

What made the victory even more striking was the manner in which it was secured — Gintra scored all seven goals in the first half. Madison Elizabeth Bowers opened the floodgates in the 8th minute, before Laura Spenazzatto doubled the advantage six minutes later. Brianna Nicole Taylor netted twice in quick succession (17’ and 30’), while Lidiane Ribeiro struck in the 21st and 41st minutes, either side of a second for Spenazzatto on 26 minutes.

After establishing their record-breaking margin before half-time, Gintra controlled the second half without adding further goals, sealing the biggest win of the 2025 season. No team had previously won by a seven-goal margin this year.

The dominant display reaffirms Gintra’s attacking power, with Spenazzatto moving clear at the top of the scoring charts and Ribeiro adding to her growing tally. The reigning champions are now two points clear of TransINVEST, who had briefly taken over top spot at the weekend.

With five matchdays left, the title battle remains alive, but Gintra’s statement victory sends a powerful message as the season heads into its final stretch.
