Riga FC Women and FK Auda booked their places in the Latvian Women’s Cup final after winning their semi-finals on Wednesday. Neither club has previously lifted the trophy.

In a repeat of last year’s final, reigning champions Riga FC Women beat defending cup holders RFS Women 4–0 (1–0) at home. Japan’s Natsumi Taketa and Sierra Leone international Kumba Brima both scored twice. Last season the sides also met in the final, with RFS taking the title in a dramatic 1–0 win.

In the other semi-final, FK Auda edged past Rīgas Futbola skola 1–0 (1–0) in front of their home fans to reach their first ever Latvian Cup final. Nikola Brahmane converted from the penalty spot early in the match to score the decisive goal.

Rīgas Futbola skola were playing in the semi-finals for the second consecutive season, while Auda had last reached this stage in 2023.

The final will take place in October.

The Latvian Women’s Cup has been held since 2014. Rīgas Futbola skola dominated the early years, winning every edition until 2021. SFK Rīga then claimed the title, before FS Metta secured back-to-back trophies. Last year, RFS Women lifted the cup for the first time (under their new identity).
