Tallinn city authorities have signed an agreement with construction company Nordlin Ehitus OÜ to begin a major reconstruction of Kadriorg Stadium. The works will cover the main arena, the football training ground, and the stadium’s technical infrastructure.

The renovation will be carried out in stages. The first phase includes construction of a new “B building,” connected to the main stand by a tunnel, providing modern training and utility facilities for athletes and coaches. At the same time, the football training pitch will be upgraded. Both are due for completion within 16 months, according to Tallinn.ee.

In the next stage, the main stand and arena will be reconstructed. This will involve renewing the stadium’s technical networks, switching buildings to district heating, refurbishing gate structures, and building a new opposite stand equipped with modern scoreboards.

Work is scheduled for completion in December 2027, with construction planned so that use of existing arenas is disrupted as little as possible.

Stadium director Olavi Sikka called the project historic: “Kadriorg Stadium will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year. It has witnessed three world records, hosted Olympic champions, and staged major sporting events, but such a renovation has never been done before.”

The project will cost €17.1 million (plus VAT), with Nordlin Ehitus OÜ carrying out the works after winning the public procurement process.
