Italian Serie C club Vis Pesaro 1898 has officially announced the signing of Latvian youth international Roberts Bočs on loan from Serie A side Pisa SC for the upcoming season.
The 19-year-old winger is a product of the AFA Olaine academy in Latvia and made his move to Italy in 2022, joining the youth ranks of Pisa SC. Over the past three seasons, Bočs has featured prominently for Pisa’s U-17 and U-19 teams. In the last two campaigns with the Primavera squad, he played a total of 40 matches and scored eight goals.
Now, Bočs is set to make his debut in professional football, with Vis Pesaro providing the platform for his first minutes at the senior level. The move is part of an ongoing collaboration between Pisa and Vis Pesaro – last season, three young talents from Pisa were loaned to the Serie C club, two of whom became regular starters and are now vying for places in Pisa’s Serie A squad.
Founded in 1898, Vis Pesaro is one of the oldest football clubs in Italy. However, the club has never competed in Serie A or Serie B. Last season, they finished sixth in their Serie C group, which consisted of 20 teams. Their promotion hopes ended in the quarterfinals of the play-offs, where they were eliminated by Pescara – the only team from the play-offs to secure promotion.
On the international stage, Roberts Bočs has represented Latvia at both U-17 and U-19 levels. He scored eight goals for the U-17 national team and added two more in 13 appearances for the U-19s.
