Slovak top-flight side DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda have officially announced the signing of Abdoulaye Gueye, the standout 20-year-old forward who made waves this season with Latvian club SK Super Nova. The promising attacker has signed a long-term contract which will keep him with the team till 2029.
Gueye, who can operate on both wings as well as up front, joined SK Super Nova at the beginning of the 2025 season, making an immediate impact in what was his debut season in European football. Over just 11 Virslīga matches, he netted four goals, including braces against FK Liepāja and FK Metta, quickly drawing attention from clubs across the continent. Now, the young talent takes the next step, joining a side that finished fourth in the Slovak Niké Liga last season.
Though DAC 1904 earned a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers, they were later disqualified for breaching multi-club ownership rules — a setback the club now looks to overcome with new talent like Gueye.
The 20-year-old forward arrives in Slovakia eager to make his mark, describing the move as the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.
“I’m stepping into an environment where everything is at the highest level” Gueye said upon arrival. “Ever since I started playing football, I’ve dreamed of joining a top club like this. Now it’s up to me to give everything and help the team succeed. I love to dribble, run, and score goals—but most of all, I love to win. Losing isn’t in my nature.”
DAC’s executive director, Jan Van Daele, expressed his enthusiasm about the club’s newest addition, highlighting Gueye’s qualities and potential. “We’re thrilled to welcome Abdoulaye to the team,” Van Daele said. “At just 20, he already shows great promise. His pace, technique, and confidence in one-on-one situations make him a real attacking threat. He brings creativity and directness in the final third—exactly the kind of spark we need. We believe strongly in his potential and are excited to help him develop here at DAC.”
