After parting ways with Hong Kong Premier League side Lee Man earlier this summer, Estonian international striker Henri Anier has officially rejoined Paide Linnameeskond. The 34-year-old forward has signed a 2.5-year deal with the club, marking a return to the domestic scene after a successful stint abroad.

Anier first left Estonia in early 2022 to join Thai club Muangthong United and later continued his Asian adventure with Lee Man in Hong Kong. Now, as a free agent, he returns to familiar territory, bringing with him a wealth of international experience and proven goal-scoring ability.

“Henri brings with him a level of quality that’s well-known and consistently proven, both at home and abroad,” praised Paide’s sporting director Gert Kams. “In my opinion, Henri is the best striker Estonia has ever produced. His finishing ability—whether it’s with his head, left foot, or right—is top-class. If he’s free to shoot, that net is going to ripple.”

Kams also noted that the club had stayed in contact with Anier during his time overseas. “Now, we both felt the timing was right. Henri is ready to return home and contribute once again to Paide’s sporting ambitions. Our goals align, and we believe his experience and quality will elevate the entire squad.”

Anier himself is eager to get started: “It’s great to be back home! I’ll give everything I have to help Paide reach its next big goals. See you on the pitch!”

Anier’s football résumé is an impressive one, featuring stints in Norway, Scotland, Germany, Thailand, and Hong Kong. In Estonia, aside from Paide, he also wore the jersey of FC Flora Tallinn. In the Premium Liiga, Anier has scored 88 goals in 127 appearances—a remarkable strike rate. For the Estonian national team, he has netted 23 times in 102 caps.
