According to the Latvian Football Federation’s official website, FK Auda has added 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder Jackson Kenio to its roster.

Kenio spent the first half of the current season with Riga FC, but failed to secure a regular spot under head coach Adrián Guľa. He made just five appearances for the club, starting only twice and registering a single assist. Now, after being sidelined from Virslīga action since May 1, he joins FK Auda with hopes of making a stronger impression.

Before his stint in Riga, Kenio played several seasons in his native Brazil, but his first European experience came in 2019 in Austria’s second division. However, it was in Albania where he truly made a name for himself. During a successful three-season spell with KF Egnatia, he played a key role in helping the club claim its first-ever major trophies — a second division title and the Albanian Cup — firmly establishing himself as one of the team’s standouts.

His performances in Albania caught the eye of Turkish Süper Lig side Istanbulspor, who signed him in the summer of 2023 for €400,000. In his debut season in Turkey’s top flight, Kenio made 36 appearances, scored once, and contributed five assists. However, following the club’s relegation to the second division and a difficult run of form, his contract was mutually terminated in the winter of 2025, paving the way for his move to Latvia.
