Kristers Bite joins FK Metta on loan from FK Auda

18-year-old Latvian keeper Kristers Bite has been loaned to FK Metta from FK Auda until the end of the 2025 Virsliga season.

Bite transferred to Auda from the recently promoted SK Super Nova during the winter, following Super Nova’s triumph in the Nākotnes Līga, but there was quickly met with a competition of two national team keepers – Rihards Matrevics and Roberts Ozols.

With two good options for the starting keeper role ahead of the 2025 season, Auda opted to loan out the young keeper so he could continue his development and earn experience in Virsliga.

In the Nākotnes Līga last season, Bite kept 16 clean sheets and conceded just 11 goals in 24 games, helping his team to achieve promotion to Virsliga. The 18-year-old has also established himself as a starting keeper for the U-19 Latvia national team, starting all three of the UEFA U19 EURO Championship qualifier games. France, Spain, and Italy await them in March.

This will be Bite’s first official Virsliga season, as previously, he’s made just one appearance in the competition – back in 2023 for FS Jelgava.
