Artūrs Zjuzins signed with Norwegian 4th tier side Nybergsund.
Norwegian 4th division club Nybergsund IL announced the surprise signing of former Latvia international and three-time Latvian Champion – Artūrs Zjuzins (33). Zjuzins, who played 62 official games for the national team, scoring 9 goals, changed clubs a number of times since leaving FC RFS last January, having played with them for five years, including in the UEFA Conference League group stage back in 2022.
Since departing RFS, Zjuzins played for Omonia Aradippou in Cyprus, and FK Liepāja and BFC Daugavpils in Latvia, all during 2024.
Commenting on him joining Nybergsund, Zjuzins said: “I’m happy to be here! Thank you for this opportunity. I will do my best for Nybergsund“. For their part, the club shared that signing former Latvian international was not a snap decision: “This is a big signing for the club! We have been working on this transfer since the summer of 2024, and the pieces fell into place when we got the job done“.
Nybergsund IL represents a town of the same name in Eastern Norway, located on the border with Sweden. Despite town being home to only 370 residents, they play at a 1500 capacity artificial grass stadium – the Nybergsund Stadion.
