FK Žalgiris Vilnius have confirmed that Comoros international midfielder Kassim Hadji will not continue with the club next season, with the two parties agreeing to terminate his contract by mutual consent.

The 25-year-old joined Žalgiris ahead of the campaign and made an instant impact in his competitive debut, announcing himself in spectacular fashion by scoring twice in the Lithuanian Super Cup final against FK Banga Gargždai.

However, his early heroics proved difficult to sustain over the course of the season. Across the following 29 matches, Hadji managed to score only two more goals, matching the total from his explosive Super Cup appearance alone. As the season progressed and Rolandas Džiaukštas took over as head coach, the midfielder gradually fell out of favour, spending much of the second half of the campaign on the bench as Žalgiris eventually finished third in the A Lyga standings.

Following the decision to part ways, Hadji issued a message to supporters and everyone connected to the club.

“I want to thank the club’s fans from the bottom of my heart for their support throughout my time at the club. It has been a great honor for me to fight for these colors. I am grateful to everyone – the staff, coaches, medical team and my teammates. Thank you for believing in me, helping me grow and sharing unforgettable moments on the pitch together,” he wrote in his farewell message.

Before arriving in Lithuania, Hadji built his career across several European leagues, featuring in France, Switzerland, and spending two seasons in Armenia’s top division.
