# Walking football tournament brings together 15 teams in Kaunas
Fifteen teams took part in an inclusive walking football tournament at the Lithuanian Football Federation’s Kaunas training centre on 7th October. The event brought together people with disabilities, older adults and members of the wider football community for a day of sport and socialising.

Teams were split into three groups. Banga finished first in Group A, ahead of Tauras and Gestų kalba ir mes. Zumpė topped Group B, with Sūduvos pelėdos second and Minija third. Saulė won Group C, followed by the Radviliškis district Third Age University team and Klaipėdos lakštutė.

The tournament was designed to make football accessible to people of different ages and physical abilities. Running is not permitted in walking football, allowing players to take part at their own pace and with less physical strain.

The initiative aims to give people with disabilities and older adults more opportunities to take part in physical activity and join the sporting community. It is being delivered in co-operation with Kaunas City Municipality, which supports the development of inclusive sport in the city.
