Latvian defender Oskars Vientiess has been officially registered as a new player of Czech second-division club MFK Chrudim, joining the team on loan from FK Liepāja.
The 23-year-old centre-back spent the past few weeks on trial with Chrudim and managed to score a goal in a friendly match. Czech media confirmed today that Vientiess has now been formally registered with MFK Chrudim ahead of the second half of the season.
A graduate of the FK Metta academy, Vientiess signed with FK Liepāja after six seasons with Metta’s first team. During the first half of last season, he made 14 Virslīga appearances for Liepāja, scoring one goal. In the second half of the campaign, he moved on loan to FK Tukums, where he added 13 more Virslīga matches.
In total, Vientiess has already accumulated 162 appearances in the Virslīga during his career.
At the midway point of the season, MFK Chrudim sit in 13th place in the 16-team Czech second division, having collected 16 points. The league is set to resume after the winter break on 28 February.
