Pärnu JK Vaprus delivered a statement performance on home turf, dismantling Tartu JK Tammeka 8-1 in the opening match of A. Le Coq Premium Liiga’s 24th round – a result that now stands as the club’s biggest-ever top-flight victory.

The scoring started early, with Vaprus finding the net in the 11th minute. Virgo Vallik whipped in a pinpoint cross that Kevin Kauber cleverly directed across the goalmouth, where 16-year-old Marten-Chris Paalberg was on hand to slot it home. Henri Valja then got on the scoresheet, converting from the penalty spot just five minutes later. Paalberg added his second before halftime with a brilliant solo effort, and Magnus Villota capped off a dominant first half by heading in a corner during stoppage time for a commanding 4-0 lead.

Just after the restart, Matthias Limberg struck quickly to pile on the pressure. Although Tammeka responded through a goal from Tanimowo in the 50th minute, their momentum was short-lived – Henri Järvelaid’s red card minutes later left them a man down. Vaprus took full advantage, as Vallik added his name to the scoresheet in the 61st minute.

In the closing stages, Joosep Põder scored a spectacular goal from distance, and Enrico Veensalu rounded off the night with Vaprus’s eighth, sealing a historic victory. The 8-1 result surpasses Vaprus’s previous top-tier record, a 7-1 win over Lasnamäe FC Ajax back in 2007.
