Pärnu Vaprus signed off on their pre-season programme with an 8-1 win against Pro Soccer Combine, a squad made up of US University players, in a friendly played at the Pärnu football hall.
The Estonian team led 2-0 at the break, before increasing the tempo after half-time to score six more times to complete a comprehensive rout.
Head coach Igor Prins noted that the match was used to give minutes to players returning from minor injury breaks and pointed out that the visitors had only arrived the previous day.
“As planned, those who have had small injury breaks were able to play,” Prins told Soccernet.ee. “In the end it shows we were better than them. In the first half it was a slightly different line-up. We couldn’t get our game going as well as we wanted at first, but in the end we managed to show enjoyable, quality football.”
