Latvian attacking-midfielder Lūkass Vapne played the full 90 minutes in Sogndal’s 2:0 away win over Egersund in the Norwegian OBOS-ligaen game today.

The 21-year-old was once again in the starting lineup for the Norwegian side. Sogndal started the season with two defeats, but then went on to win four of their next five games, which saw them climb into the middle of the table.

Today, their opponents were Egersund — a side that had one point more than Sogndal before kickoff. Lūkass Vapne’s team started well, opening the scoring in the 5th minute through Swedish striker Oliver Hintsa. Late in the game, they added an insurance goal when Vegard Hagen beat the opposing goalkeeper.

After eight rounds, Sogndal have moved up to second place in the league table with 15 points. Vapne, who is on loan at Sogndal from FK Metta, has featured in all eight matches so far, scoring once.
