# Ukrainian defender leaves Banga Gargždai

**Lithuanian [A Lyga](https://balticfootballnews.com/?page_id=1120 "A Lyga") side [FK Banga Gargždai](https://balticfootballnews.com/?page_id=2412 "FK Banga Gargždai") has announced that they have not renewed the contract with the Ukrainian defender Kostyantyn Shults.**

The 31-year-old left-back joined Banga in the summer of 2023. Shults has been playing in Lithuania since 2017, having notably represented **FK Atlantas** and spending a season with [**FC Džiugas Telšiai**](https://balticfootballnews.com/?page_id=2424 "FC Džiugas Telšiai") in 2022. Last season, he made 32 appearances in the A Lyga for Banga, scoring one goal and providing three assists.

Kostyantyn played a role in helping Banga secure their first major Lithuanian silverware by winning the Lithuanian Cup last season. In the final, he entered the match as a substitute in the 85th minute, and Banga triumphed after a penalty shootout against [**FC Hegelmann**](https://balticfootballnews.com/?page_id=2406 "FC Hegelmann").

A product of the Chornomorets Odesa Academy, Shults made a total of 55 appearances across all competitions during his time with Banga.
