The line-up for the UEFA Futsal EURO 2026 is now complete after Italy, Georgia, Hungary and Belgium clinched the final qualification spots. They join the 12 nations that had already secured their place at the 16-team finals: Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Portugal, Armenia, Czechia, Poland, Ukraine, Croatia, Belarus, Spain and France.
For the first time in history, the Futsal EURO will be staged across three countries — Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia. The tournament kicks off on 21 January in Riga’s Xiaomi Arena (Arena Riga), with the hosts Latvia playing in what will be their first-ever major finals appearance.
Remarkably, this EURO will feature three debutants: Latvia, Lithuania and Armenia. While Slovenia are seasoned hosts, both Baltic neighbours will step onto the continental stage for the very first time, making the event even more symbolic for the region.
Among the other qualifiers, there are some notable stories: Georgia continue their remarkable rise, having reached the 2022 finals on debut and now returning stronger. Belgium, once a regular name in early editions of the competition, are back for the first time in more than a decade. Hungary, too, return after a long absence, having last played at a EURO in 2016.
The draw is set for 24 October in Kaunas, where it will be revealed which teams will play their group-stage matches in Latvia. The ceremony will be streamed live on UEFA.com.
Latvia has already shown promising signs ahead of the finals, winning an international tournament in Jakarta against higher-ranked opponents from the Netherlands (28th) and Indonesia (22nd), as well as beating Tanzania. Preparations continue in October, when the team will host back-to-back friendlies against reigning European champions Portugal on 19 and 21 October.
