A significant chapter has come to a close for Paide Linnameeskond, as the Estonian club announced the end of its collaboration with Serbian head coach Ivan Stojković. The decision brings to a close a partnership that began in May 2023, marking nearly two years of leadership under the experienced coach.
Until a new head coach is appointed, assistant coaches Tarmo Kink and Ats Sillaste will take over managerial duties, steering the team through this transitional period.
“This step is necessary to bring fresh energy and new ideas into the club,” said Paide’s sporting director Gert Kams in an official statement. He emphasized that the decision was not made lightly, following careful consideration and internal discussions.
Kams expressed gratitude for Stojković’s dedication: “We want to sincerely thank Ivan for his work and commitment over the past two years. Under his leadership, the team has made significant strides—not only in player development and training processes, but also in the overall professionalism of the club. His impact will be a lasting one in the history of Paide Linnameeskond.”
He concluded with well-wishes for the Serbian tactician: “We wish Ivan every success in his future endeavors. With his experience and character, we are confident that new challenges and opportunities await him soon.”
Paide have gone winless in their last four matches. The stretch included defeats to JK Tallinna Kalev and title contenders FCI Levadia, along with draws against Harju JK Laagri and FC Kuressaare — results that ultimately proved costly for the Serbian manager.
Despite the recent dip, Paide remain in a relatively strong position. After 13 matches, they sit 4th in the Meistriliiga table with 23 points — six adrift of league leaders Flora.
