TransINVEST sign Basque midfielder Iker Bilbao

FK TransINVEST have announced the signing of central midfielder Iker Bilbao, adding further experience to their squad as they prepare for their return to Toplyga.

The 29-year-old Bilbao, operates primarily as a central midfielder and arrives with an extensive professional background. He began his football journey in his native Basque Country within the Danok Bat youth system before moving in 2015 to the structure of Athletic Club. There, he featured for C.D. Basconia.

He later represented S.D. Gernika and S.D. Amorebieta, playing a role in Amorebieta’s historic promotion to Spain’s Segunda División. Over the course of his career, Bilbao has made 44 appearances in Spain’s La Liga 2. He has also played abroad with PAS Giannina in Greece and returned to Spain with AD Alcorcón. Most recently, he represented Real Unión Club.

Described as a versatile midfielder, Bilbao is regarded as effective both defensively and in initiating attacking moves. His experience across multiple leagues is seen as a significant addition to the team’s overall profile.

FK TransINVEST will begin their new season on Saturday, opening their league campaign with a match against FA Šiauliai.
