# Tonybet Celebrates FC RFS’s Return to the Top of Latvian Football
FC RFS have settled the title race before their final meeting with Riga FC. The championship is theirs. A 3–0 victory over Grobiņa at LNK Sporta Parks on Sunday 1 November secured the 2026 Tonybet Virslīga title, giving the club’s supporters a championship to celebrate at their [](https://fkrfs.lv/zigas-un-darko-vartu-guvumi-nokarto-uzvaru-pret-super-novu/)final home league match of the year.

For Tonybet, the club’s partner and the league’s title sponsor, it is a moment to congratulate a team that has reclaimed its place at the top. FC RFS have responded to [](https://lff.lv/zinas/19327/fc-rfs-atgriezas-latvijas-cempionu-troni/)losing the crown to Riga FC last season by winning it back with a round to spare. The decisive afternoon brought goals from three different players. [](https://sportacentrs.com/futbols/virsliga/01112026-rfs_atgriezas_latvijas_futbola_troni_un_i)Stefan Panič opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Darko Lemajič was fouled, before Lemajič headed in Alfa Baldé’s cross to double the advantage. It was the striker’s 15th league goal of the campaign, another important contribution from a familiar figure in the club’s success. Dmitrijs Zelenkovs completed the scoring with a long-range finish into the top corner. By the final whistle, the home side had delivered the result the occasion demanded.

FC RFS had not always been able to win so comfortably. Against Jelgava in October, FC RFS were two goals down before substitute Lemajič helped turn the game around. He scored twice and won a penalty as FC RFS struck three times in nine minutes, eventually winning 4–2. The match also brought the striker his 100th goal in Latvia’s top flight – a personal milestone on an afternoon when the title challenge could have suffered a serious setback.

That recovery began a [](https://fkrfs.lv/en/results/)sequence of five league wins, culminating in the championship-clinching result. Across those matches, [](https://fkrfs.lv/en/results/)FC RFS scored 16 goals and conceded only twice. Their October results show how decisively they finished the job: after the Jelgava comeback, four successive clean sheets left their opponents with little room to intervene.

FC RFS had been difficult to beat long before the final run-in, [](https://lff.lv/zinas/19327/fc-rfs-atgriezas-latvijas-cempionu-troni)securing the title with only two league defeats all season and an unbeaten run stretching to 17 matches. Their previous championships came in 2021, 2023 and 2024, making this a fourth success in six seasons. The European milestones that followed, including reaching the Conference League group stage in 2022 and the Europa League main stage in 2024, helped carry the FC RFS name beyond Latvia. This season’s championship adds another domestic success to that growing history.

Tonybet’s relationship with FC RFS sits alongside its league sponsorship, which began in 2024, as part of its wider support for Latvian football. This year, that partnership has followed the club all the way back to first place.
