
RFS have announced the signing of the 31-year-old Latvian forward Dāvis Ikaunieks. He returns to the club after 5 years and joins his younger brother Jānis Ikaunieks.
Same as his brother, Dāvis started his career in Liepāja, which was later followed by short spells in Czechia for FC Vysočina and FK Jablonec. In 2019, he returned to Latvia, signing for RFS, scoring six and assisting 2 goals in 15 appearances for the current Latvian champions.
Dāvis left for Czechia once again at the end of the 2019 season and continued to go back and forth between the two countries, even making a return to FK Liepāja.
Last year the the Latvian finally settled in the Lithuanian first division side FA Šiauliai, where he undoubtedly had one of the best years of his career. In the 2024 A Lyga season, Dāvis scored 18 goals and assisted 3 times, becoming one of the most eye-catching players in the country.
After the season, Dāvis signed a contract with Singapore first division side DPMM FC and continued his great form there, scoring 18 goals in 20 games.
Now, after 5 years, Dāvis Ikaunieks has returned to RFS, joining the club as a free agent and signing a deal until the end of the 2026 season. The forward has already joined the first team training.
