Tartu Tammeka defender Mihkel Sepp has joined Esiliiga side Welco on loan.
The 21-year-old full-back made 21 appearances in the Premium liiga before completing the move across the city, with Welco confirming the agreement on Monday.
Sepp told Welco’s official media channels he had settled quickly. “It has gone very well. Everyone has taken me in and I didn’t really have to adapt – I was already here straight away,” he said. “The biggest thing is the Welco fans. It didn’t matter whether you played Welco at Holm Park or the Coop Stadium – the only thing you heard was the Welco fans. Now they’re my fans too, and it’s nice that they’ll be shouting for me,” Sepp added.
Asked to describe himself, Sepp said: “I think I’m a pretty solid defender and I cope pretty well.”
Welco sporting director Mihkel Rääk said Welco moved for Sepp to strengthen their wide defensive positions, pointing to the player’s experience of the Premium liiga’s demands and work ethic.
Goalkeeper Andero Antsov, also 21, has previously moved from Tammeka to Welco on loan this winter.
