Today in the Slovenian Prva Liga, last season’s Estonian Premium Liiga top scorer Alex Matthias Tamm made his debut and played 62 minutes for his NK Olimpija Ljubljana and what a debut it was as he scored his first goal for his new club in a win against ND Privorje 5-0.
Today, the 23-year-old forward who joined the Slovenian side from Nomme Kalju FC at the start of January played his first official game for his new club.
As the Slovenian Prva Liga returned from the winter break, the Estonian international who last season scored 28 league goals got named in the starting lineup for Olimpija Ljubljana as they hosted ND Privorje.
Tamm made the impact already as in the 3rd minute, he got the chance to score his first goal for the new club, but his shot from close range hit the crossbar. What he did not do in the 3rd minute, he did five minutes later as he received a pass in front of a goal, and he was quicker than defenders, winning the battle and, with a right foot shot, beating the goalkeeper to open his goal account in Slovenia to give his team an early lead.
Alex also received a yellow card in the 38th minute.
At the end of the first half, Olimpija scored their second goal.
In the 62 minute, Alex Matthias Tamm’s debut came to an end as he was substituted. It was an encouraging debut for the Estonian national team forward as Olimpija, who was 60 minutes playing with two more men as Privorje received two red cards, ended up scoring three more goals as NK Olimpija Ljubljana got the win 5-0.
Olimpija currently sit at the top of the Slovenian Prva Liga table with 42 points after 19 games. The next match for Alex Matthias Tamm and his Olimpija will be next Saturday, when they will travel to play against Koper.
