SK Super Nova have announced that team captain Dāvis Vējkrīgers will not continue with the club next season, while Eduards Emsis will remain with the team.

The 21-year-old centre-back Vējkrīgers joined Super Nova ahead of the 2024 season. He played a key role in the club’s promotion from the second division, helping Super Nova return to the Virslīga. Ahead of the 2025 season, Vējkrīgers was appointed team captain and went on to make 32 Virslīga appearances, as Super Nova finished the campaign in 8th place. Prior to joining Super Nova, the defender spent several seasons with FK Jelgava.

Meanwhile, central midfielder Eduards Emsis will remain at the club. The 29-year-old returned to Latvia after nearly six years abroad. Due to injury, Emsis missed the first half of the season, returning to action in the summer and making 10 Virslīga appearances overall.

Emsis has earned 33 caps for the Latvian national team. In Latvia, he has previously represented Skonto FC, FK Metta, and FK Jelgava. His foreign career includes spells in the top divisions of Armenia, Finland, and Albania, as well as Norway’s second tier.
