Marijampolė-based side Sūduva have extended their partnership with long-serving defender Aleksandar Živanović, who has signed a new contract for the upcoming season.

The 38-year-old Serbian centre-back arrived in Lithuania in 2017 and is set to embark on his tenth consecutive season with the club. During his time at Sūduva, Živanović has won the Lithuanian championship three times. In the 2024 A Lyga season, he featured in 35 league matches, scoring two goals and receiving three yellow cards. He also made four appearances in the FPRO LFF Cup.

Živanović has captained Sūduva for the past three seasons and spoke about what the club means to him. “Spending ten years at one club outside my home country means a great deal,” he said. “It shows that Sūduva feels like home to me. I know everything about the club, and the people here are like family. The most important thing is to stay healthy and give everything I can. Last season was a decent one for us, and I hope the next will be even better. Still, what’s done is in the past. We have to start from zero again and prove once more that we are a strong team.”

Sūduva are set to begin preparations for the new season in the first half of January.
